Ziang Li (Brooklyn)

She works as a visual artist in WhichWitch, developing visual, moving image, and installation-based approaches across its projects.

in a nutshell:

Born in 1999, Brooklyn is an interdisciplinary artist based between Beijing and London. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Central Academy of Drama and her master’s degree from the University of the Arts London.

Working across theatre, moving image, sound, installation, and game-making, her practice draws on cosmologies rooted in traditional religious thought to explore individual experience and memory. She is interested in how personal memories negotiate, resist, and reshape dominant narratives, and how such tensions emerge through encounters between different media.

Alongside her artistic practice, she also works as a director in the advertising field. In 2024, she founded the visual studio BUTTERCAN, through which she has collaborated with a range of brands and IP projects.
