Food as Self-portrait

What sounds unfold when an egg is peeled open?
When a steamed bun rests on a radiator, what memories return through its warmth and scent?

This workshop invites participants to engage with food through as many senses as possible, including smell, taste, touch, and hearing, experiencing their relationship with food through shared presence.

At the same time, participants are invited to step slightly outside themselves and observe these connections from a certain distance, noticing what they might reveal about their own ways of living, remembering, and feeling.

Here, food becomes a form of self-portraiture — Food as Portrait: a portrait composed of gestures, memories, desires, routines, and the intimate landscapes carried within us. Through sensing, observing, and sharing, we hope to use food as an anchor that reconnects us with memories and sensory experiences that cannot be taken away, allowing us to ground and soothe ourselves amidst movement and uncertainty.
