We employ workshops as a method of practice and research, integrating physical theater techniques and continuously adapting theatrical exercises in response to participants’ needs and the evolving focus of the project.
Each workshop in The Legend of Nüwa in the New Century functions as a space for collective creation, reflection, and ongoing dialogue. Through embodied exercises, storytelling, improvisation, and shared discussion, participants are invited to engage with emotional experiences and questions related to motherhood. The process explores a range of topics, including the expectations and anxieties of women who have not yet become mothers, the everyday realities and challenges of motherhood, and the often layered and complex relationships between mothers and daughters.
In collaboration with partner institutions that provide safe and supportive spaces, we lead these workshops with the aim of creating a dialogue space centered on women’s experiences. Our participants range from female university students to retired women, representing diverse backgrounds and different stages of life.
